Leather frame and mirror for DDP Collection, Seoul life 2019
「 Sturgeon leather product with the spirit of Chilpi Craft that used to be given to the king. 」
Sturgeon leather is strong enough to withstand living conditions, and its unique patterns made it a very expensive product and was used to given to kings. The color and product itself can be preserved longer by the hands of the world's only Chilpi artist who paints the skin of the sturgeon with lacquer. We designed a series of frames and mirrors to give users a little bit of everyday happiness.
Applying lacquer enabled a variety of colors and the shape could be preserved for a long time without damaging the leather. The linear form on the front of the frame and the smooth curve on the back contrast each other, adding details and providing visual stability. These leather frames add up to the craftsmanship and provide a more luxurious finish, which sets them apart from other products. Leather framed pictures are made of two types : horizontal and vertical.
Leather mirrors were made as an extension of the leather frame.
