「 The beauty of octagonal structure, the heritage of 1,000 years 」
Located in Yeongoksa Temple in Gurye, Jeollanam-do, National Treasure No. 53 has a history of 1,000 years. Although this stone Stupa had gone through conflagration as many as three times, it is carved with beautiful and detailed illustration on the surface of the stone. The elaborate sculpture that depicts the truth of Buddhism shines even after 1,000 years and the fire. We refined and restored the sophisticated sculptures of the Stupa by computer graphics, and proceeded making them useful in real life.
We extracted 54 types of original source from the Stupa and developed 11 types of Pictograms. For better use of the original sources and pictograms, we created the systems and the manual book that contains all of these information. The manual book introduces a variety of patterns and products that can be made using these sources and pictograms. Based on the manual book, various graphics and products may be created by utilizing these sources.
