This sngjachongtong is a firearm made by Kim Ji (金墀), who served as Jeolla Jwasusa and Gyeongsang Soldier from 1575 (8th year of King Seonjo's reign) to 1578 (11th year of King Seonjo's reign), and played a major role in the rebellion of Itanggae (尼湯介) in 1583. 

However, during the Japanese invasions of Korea, it lost its power due to the Japanese army's rifles.
