The Capacity Enhancement Workshop, organized by the National Institute of Intangible Heritage, is an educational program to study, develop and utilize the future of craft product by combining traditional and contemporary craft skills. Subjects were So-Mok, Ja-Su, Gak-Ja, Dan-Cheong.
The 2016 National Intangible Heritage Center Capacity Enhancement Workshop has organized an exhibition that presents the dignity of Korean packaging culture under the theme of “Courtesy and dignity”
The theme of 2016 is 'courtesy and dignity; Traditional Packaging Culture' and has developed a variety of products that have a Korean unique beauty of packaging culture. The product development process was conducted through close discussion between the learners and the designers. Various perspective considered including concept, idea, technique, profitability, market potential then selected products were developed into final display through sampling activity.
Song-bak-ji-ham of Songyeongdo (So-Mok Jang) is multi-functional wooden box that completed by very sophisticated skills.
Ju-Ryoung-Huk-Nang of Park Hyoung-on is the bag that made of coral and bamboo that conveys Korean traditional scholars.
The colorful knot necklace of Park Hyung-min's Mae-deup Jang is made based on the five traditional colors of Korea that is giving rich beauty of traditional Korean knot.
It was very valuable time to work in harmony with crafts men and explore the future of craft.
